Tasting Grace

Parenting Pathway Stonebriar Community Church Frisco, TexasRecently, Melissa D’Arabian stopped by to talk about her new book, Tasting Grace: Discovering the Power of Food to Connect Us to God, One Another, and Ourselves. She is the winner of the The Next Food Network Star, season five, and the author of many cookbooks including The Ten Dollar Dinner.

book cover: Tasting GraceIn our conversation, Melissa shares how she reluctantly came to this book. Familiar with writing cookbooks and recipes, she was not sure why she felt God leading her to take this step. In Tasting Grace, Melissa started evaluating her relationship with food in light of her relationship with God. She began to appreciate food as not only a gift from Him but also as a deeper invitation into His love. As she prayed, studied Scripture, and reflected on the stories from her own life, Melissa saw how God had used food to draw her into community, to redeem her moments of greatest tragedy, and ultimately to connect her more to Him.

In our podcast conversation, we talk about the 16 invitations that God used to draw Melissa closer to Him, and by sharing those invitations Melissa invites us to look at food and our relationships in a new light.  Melissa reminds us that all food, first and foremost, is a gift from God. When you return to Him as the source, you will find the freedom to enjoy His beautiful and delicious creation.

This was such a fun interview, and we hope you will sip a cup of coffee and join the conversation.
