Are You A Drone Parent?

We have all heard of Helicopter Parenting, but have you heard of Drone Parenting? A Drone Parent is a parent who, when seen from afar, might be perceived as having a hands-off approach to parenting. They use technology to monitor, restrict, and protect their children from themselves and the world around them. Most of us at one time or another cross the boundary between parenting and overparenting, but with access to so many tracking tools, apps, and resources, we can be knee-deep before we even realize it. And unfortunately, when we get carried away into Drone Parenting, we are having a big impact on the psychological development of our kids. This week on the blog, we’re taking a step back to look at overprotective parenting, and how our faith is meant to shoulder our burdens and provide peace in parenting.
