Shower Your Family with Love

Photo: Family sharing valentine's

I can be accused of overworking almost any holiday. That’s probably the hazard of only having one chick to scratch for. Regardless, I love the idea of making our kids feel loved and cared for, especially for those that don’t always feel seen or heard in the world outside of our homes. It doesn’t take much effort to Shower Your Family with Love with these conversation hearts.

Conversation Hearts were created in the early 1900s from the New England Confection Company (Necco). Originally, they sported phrases such as BE MINE and KISS ME. Over the years, the hearts have increased in size and the words have changed, but the sentiment has remained the same: To affirm the recipient of your love and admiration.

We created a set of conversation hearts that allows you to customize them to each member of your family. Phrases such as I LOVE WHEN…, I LOVE TO WATCH YOU…, I LOVE WHEN WE…, provide the perfect jumping off point for you to write in something personal, so you can share what you love about your family member and how special they are to you.

Simply download this free printable, print, and cut out your conversation hearts. Then comes the fun part–start adding your own affirmations for your loved ones!

You can spread your custom affirmations on your child’s bedroom floor, tape them to their mirror or bedroom door, or slip them into their lunchbox, backpack, or homework folder. I taped them all over the steering wheel and dashboard of my husband’s truck. Each time your loved one finds them, it is another affirmation of their value and your love.

Happy Valentine’s Day
